The mesh of the fibers must be dense enough to offer resistance to the passage of the sun.The acronym UPF Ultraviolet Protection Factor is a rating that indicates the amount of radiation that the garment blocks. The maximum rating is UPF 50+ meaning it blocks over 98% of UVA and UVB rays.
